THE ANTI-SWEATSHOP PROTEST AT FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY

06/18/02

Two FSU students, Richie Kent and Shahar Sapir, have been protesting the sale of sweatshop-made goods by the FSU athletic teams. They and several FSU institutions (including the faculty senate and student senate) have called on the university to join the Workers' Rights Consortium - a national group which inspects factories here and abroad. Several students have been arrested for conducting a protest on the FSU campus.
