WMNF Drive-Time News Friday | Listen to this entire show:

Aidan Delgado was a student at New College of Florida in Sarasota when his Army Reserve unit was activated and sent to Iraq in 2003.

Delgado has written a book about his experience in the war and how he decided to become a conscientious objector, or CO. The book is called The Sutras of Abu Ghraib – Notes from a Conscientious Objector in Iraq and was just released in bookstores.

He will speak in Sarasota on Sept. 4 and at Inkwood Books in Tampa on Sept. 6.

Delgado was first based in the southern Iraqi military base at Tallil. WMNF Spoke with Aidan Delgado this morning and asked how his experiences at Tallil contributed to his seeking CO status.

WMNF will air the second half of this interview on the Evening News next week.
