WMNF Drive-Time News Thursday | Listen to this entire show:

In Robert Baer’s new book, he says that because of indifference or ignorance, Iran has emerged as a nation every bit as capable of altering America’s destiny as traditional superpowers China and Russia.

Baer is the author of two previous New York Times best sellers. The second, See No Evil, which recounted his years as an ex-CIA operative, was the basis for the 2005 film Syrianna, which earned George Clooney as Oscar for his portrayal of Baer.

The new book is called, The Devil We Know: Dealing with the new Iranian Superpower.

There has been concern for several years now that the Bush administration would attack Iran because of its budding nuclear program. But Baer tells WMNF that in some ways, we’re already at war with that country.
