The Federal Aviation Authority announced earlier this week that on-time arrival performance last year was the 10th best in the past 14 years with comparable numbers.

However, they’ve only been keeping track for the past 14 years.

Hawaiian Airlines had the best on-time record, followed closely by Southwest.

Ground delays continue to be a problem. An incident that grounded an American Airlines plane on the tarmac in Austin, Texas without food or water for 9 hours in late 2006 led citizen Kate Hanni to form the Coalition for Airline Passengers Bill of Rights.

Since that time, she’s been working on getting federal legislation to prevent such incidents from happening again.

Hanni is on Capitol Hill this week, meeting with members of Congress.

You can learn more about her efforts for a Passenger Bill of Rights, by going to Hanni's website, flyersrights.org.
