Later this month, friends and supporters of Chamberlain High School alumnus Darby Steadman will participate in a golf tournament and reunion party in New Tampa that will benefit breast cancer research.
All proceeds will go to the Darby Foundation, named for the 40 year old Darby Steadman. Steadman has terminal breast cancer and has been undergoing an experimental treatment plan over the past year.
She is one of a few dozen women with terminal cancer in the Baltimore area undertaking the treatment.
Steadman's friends have rallied around her, helping to create a foundation called 'Driving Miss Darby'. A previous fundraiser collected over $14,000 for breast cancer research.
Another fundraiser for the Driving Miss Darby Foundation will take place a week from tomorrow, Saturday May 30th . There will be a golf tournament at Heritage Isles, with dinner and silent auction to follow. Foundation member Joe Larson says Facebook users can learn more by looking up the Driving Miss Darby Group Page.
