Hannah Free-a film
From A Woman's Point of View
Wendy Jo Carlton, the director of Hannah Free, talked about the adaptation of the play by Claudi Allen into this movie.
Sharon Gless (Cagney & Lacey) plays Hannah and the film deals with her lifelong love of Rachel. By the use of flashbacks we follow the women from children to the present, in which they are both in a nursing room. Hannah is bedridden and cannot visit Rachel, who lies comatose in a different wing. But the reasons for her inability to see Rachel are not only based on her physical limitations but as much by the homophobia of Rachel's daughter. The film is part of the Tampa Gay and Lesbian Film Festival.comments powered by Disqus
