Radioactivity: Live Call-In (Wednesday) | Listen to this entire show:

Good morning, welcome to Radioactivity. I’m Rob Lorei. Coming up we’ll hear about a new report on access to health care in the US. And later we’ll talk with some activists who are alarmed about the recently completed session of the state legislature.

First some listener comments—some about yesterday's interview with Rich Templin of the Florida AFL-CIO. One about unemployment. And another about the ongoing violence in Syria.

First up today-- The Commonwealth Fund, a New York foundation that studies the U.S. healthcare market, just issued a report ranked 306 communities nationwide on key areas of health system performance, such as whether patients are getting timely preventive care and avoiding unnecessary hospital stays and whether healthcare is affordable. Cathy Schoen, is coauthor of the report and a senior vice president at the Commonwealth Fund. She joins us now.

Next we'll hear from two local activists with Awake Pinellas - Aaron Dietrich of Floridians for a Fair Economy and veteran classroom teacher Jim Jackson

They will be protesting the actions of the state legislature this Friday at 3637 Fourth Street North in St. Petersburg from 4-6PM.
