Florida Legislators Propose $10.10 Minimum Wage For All Workers
Today Radioactivity explores how Florida Legislators have introduced Senate Bill 456 and House Bill 385. If passed, these bills would eliminate the tip credit and raise the minimum wage to $10.10 for tipped and non-tipped employees.
Floridas minimum wage for tipped workers is currently $4.91 - these workers are employed mostly by the restaurant industry and do not receive stable pay. They are forced to live off tips.
Rob Lorei interviews ROC-Miami's Research & Policy Coordinator, Jean Souffrant and their Lead Coordinator, Yaneth Lombana.
