Former Florida Democratic lawmaker Dan Gelber on Stand Your Ground

03/29/12 Mitch Perry
Last Call Thursday | Listen to this entire show:

Dan Gelber was one of only 20 members in the 160- member Florida Legislature who voted against the state's controversial Stand Your Ground law back in 2005.

On this program, Gelber discusses why he was always opposed to the bill, which has received international attention due to the focus on the Trayvon Martin killing on February 26.

Gelber served 10 years in the Florida House & Senate (2000-2010), and lost to Pam Bondi in his bid for Attorney General in November of 2010.

Dan "tax and spend" Gelber voted wrong on the bill then and has been further hurting Florida when he opposed gambling reform and set the state back an entire year from economic recovery. He makes plenty of money to speak out for greedy billionaires that fear reform. Progress will come but not because of him, rather in spite of him.
