Today on Radioactivity Rob Lorei speaks with Washington Post correspondent David E. Hoffman who in investigates the rise of deadly superbugs that modern medicine can't treat in tonight's FRONTLINE documentary Hunting the Nightmare Bacteria. The film also takes a rare look inside an uncontrollable outbreak at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center--the NIH--one of the nation's most prestigious research hospitals, where 18 patients were sickened and six died.
Just this week a third Tampa Buccaneers football player was diagnosed with MRSA, an antiobiotic-resistant staph infection, while a salmonella outbreak at a chicken plant in California sickened hundreds with strains of salmonella that resist multiple antibiotics. Listen to the full show above.
