From A Woman's Point of View | Listen to this entire show:

Nancy Parrish the founder of Protect Our Defenders talks about the recent exposure of the sexual abuse charges at the Lackland Air force base. Women trainees at the Air Force training base in San Antonio Texas reported being raped or sexually assaulted by 13 instructors. Protect Our Defenders and many other groups are demanding a full Congressional Investigation into the continuing sexual assaults not only at Lackland but in the entire Armed Forces. Paula Coughlin-Puopolo the aviator who was the whistleblower from the Tailhook scandal in which 84 women aviators were assaulted has led the petition drive to demand such a hearing from Rep. Buck McKeon (R-Los Angeles County). It is estimated that over 500,000 women have been assaulted in the military over the last 20 years. Of those cases, only 19,000 have been reported and of those who have reported 85% have regretted doing so as they felt they were not only not supported or helped, but harassed and villianized for disloyalty.
