Republican voters head to the polls tomorrow in South Carolina. In the wake of the primary, I want to introduce you to a woman who, without any fanfare has helped thousands of people exercise their right to vote. Her name is Dr. Brenda Williams. She is a family practitioner in S. Carolina who, along with her husband, has spent hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars of their own money helping dozens of residents attain photo ID’s, as well as registering thousands of their patients to vote since 1982.
Dr. Williams says “Medicine is about more than blood pressure, it’s about people’s feelings of self-worthâ€, and believes voting contributes to that self-worth. I had a chance to speak to Dr. Williams last week.
