Why are Tampa's greenhouse gas emissions so high?
Tampaâs population is just 335,000, but its carbon footprint is similar to cities with twice the population. Thatâs according to an article in todayâs Tampa Tribune.
Tampaâs municipal government emits 246,000 metric tons of greenhouse gases. Thatâs more than Boston, which has nearly twice the population. The entire Tampa community emits 8.9 million metric tons of greenhouse gases. Thatâs only a little less than Baltimore, another city that has nearly twice Tampaâs population.
Joining us to talk about this, and take questions from listeners over the phone, is Phil Compton, heâs the regional representative of the Sierra Club.comments powered by Disqus
