On August 6, 1965, just five months after Selma, Alabama and "Bloody Sunday,” Lyndon Johnson signed into law the Voting Rights Act. On June 25, 2013, the Supreme Court overturned a key provision of the Act. Join Marcie on the Tuesday Morning Show as we revisit the events that led to its passage and the recent ruling. We’ll speak with Ray Arsenault, author of Freedom Riders (and give away a DVD of the PBS documentary based on his book.) And of course lots of music honoring the struggle for civil rights, then and now.
