WMNF SOTD 2/26/25: Don’t Come Down by Rohna [premiere]

Share

Today is the last day of the WMNF Winter Fund Drive. If you appreciate our support of local music consider donating now. Read more about that here.

The WMNF Song of the Day for February 26, 2025 is “Don’t Come Down” by Rohna, an indie/psyche/rock/punk band from Tampa, FL.

The highly anticipated “Don’t Come Down” dropped today, featuring lush reverb, warm vocals, and an encouraging message needed in these turbulent times. One could easily imagine an ecstatic longer version becoming a staple of Rohna’s famously fun live shows.

Rohna was formed in 2019 and consists Andres Hernandez (bass/vocals and Indie Night Live founder), Austin Burdi (guitar), John Bruno (guitar, keys, and vocals), Luca Canalungo (drums and vocals), and Nick Rovello (guitar and vocals).

There’s a never-ending struggle to find a balance between life’s highs and lows, and this song recognizes how you can’t have one without the other. One day you feel like you’re on top of the world, and the next day you’re having a crisis trying to navigate through the noise. Finding some ground to float on between the two extremities is where I think we’re the most content.

Nick Rovello (guitar and vocals, Rohna)

You can see Rohna live at several spots soon including a March 8th show at Crowbar with The Stews. You can get many tickets here for you and your friends.

“Don’t Come Down” is the first single off their sophomore album of the same name, expected this August.

Just keep floating. Don’t come down. More info at: https://www.rohnamusic.com

The 16mm music video for “Don’t Come Down”, created with Tampa’s Mandalay Film Club was filmed in the historic Rialto Theatre in downtown Tampa.
