The Museum of Fine Arts is hosting an evening of gratitude and grasshoppers when noted chef Joseph Yoon of Brooklyn Bugs serves up the future of food — insects.
Yoon will present a tasting menu of 10 dishes where insects will be cooked into a dish, featured as the main ingredient or applied in a variety of other ways. Inspired by the insect-themed exhibition, ‘The Grasshopper and The Ant’ and Other Stories, as told by Jennifer Angus, the evening will transform your perceptions of insects from pests to edible insects — which is how 80 percent of the world’s nations views them. Yoon will also share with guests the story of Brooklyn Bugs, its mission and present the ideology that eating insects, and redefining their role in humanity, may actually raise our collective appreciation for them and address the issues of food security and sustainability in the world.
