3rd Annual Pride Music & Art Festival

Share

The Tampa Bay Pride Band (TBPB) presents the Third Annual Pride Music & Art Festival, an annual concert and art festival that celebrates and combines the visual and musical arts of Tampa Bay. It also serves as the kickoff Pride event in Tampa. The Pride Music and Art Festival allows the arts community to stand together and celebrate diversity through music and art.

The evening will begin at 5:00 p.m. with artists from all around Tampa Bay displaying pieces of original work that center around one theme: “What does diversity mean to me?” Attendees are encouraged to meet and interact with the participating artists while their works are displayed and available for purchase from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The evening will feature surprise pop-up performances from voice, instrumental, and dance performers from around Tampa Bay. Light refreshments will be served.

The festival concludes with the Tampa Bay Symphonic Winds, the large concert ensemble of the TBPB, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Attendees will experience a taste of classic hits for the concert band, solo works featuring the talent of TBPB members, and a few other surprises. Featured works include Rocky Point Holiday by Ron Nelson, two movements of Johann de Meij’s epic Symphony No. 1: Lord of the Rings, and two exciting new works for band – Until the Scars by John Mackey and a fun performance-art piece Paper Cut by Alex Shapiro, utilizing black light effects and paper.

Artists interested in displaying their work should contact [email protected]

All proceeds from this event will go toward the continuation of this project and the TBPB.
