Lourdes Rosas-Rasdall’s “Fragile” Addresses the Vulnerability of Nature: Opening Reception

Share

Lourdes Rosas-Rasdall works in watermedia, two-dimensional mixed media and kiln-formed glass. No matter the medium, her signature is a vibrant and bold palette, representative of the world around her. “Fragile” pays homage to the fragility of nature. Things with wings, petals and leaves make up most of this body of work, calling attention to the vulnerable living things around us that are threatened by either natural events or human actions.

Since 1981, Lourdes has been residing and creating art in the Tampa Bay area. She has a Bachelor of Arts from Eckerd College. Her calendar is divided between art shows, art workshops, private instruction, commissions and community art projects.

Nature is a repeating theme in her artwork, and Lourdes got to explore nature a little closer this year when she was awarded a fully-sponsored art residency at Wildacres Retreat in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.

You can meet Lourdes and see her colorful representations of the fragile wildlife around us during the opening reception on November 16.  The exhibit will be on display November 12 to December 14.
