WMNF to walk in the Tampa Martin Luther King Day Parade

Share

The Dr Martin Luther King Parade Foundation and WMNF 88.5FM Community Radio cordially invite you to participate in the 31st Annual Martin Luther King Parade in Tampa, FL on Monday, January 20th, 2020. Walking with us in this event is not only great fun, but it also provides an excellent opportunity to promote our WONDERFUL station, while building fellowship with each other and many local community groups!!

Our position is 78 – We have the honor of welcoming Candy Lowe and her Black Business Tour Bus to be with us. Parking is available at Cuscaden Park Football Field for Parade Entrants Only. Drop off point/entrance area is at 15th St and the exit at 18th St. We suggest the Buddy System = one vehicle at the beginning of route/staging area and one at the end. It’s worked very well in the past.

Come to Nebraska Avenue and 21st AVENUE!!! (NOT STREET), then walk the sidewalk until you find our number 78 on a curb flag, Candy’s vehicle and other WMNFers. You should join us at the staging area by 11:30 am (but be prepared to wait a bit).  The parade is scheduled to begin at 12 noon – It’s 2 miles long and will be about 3 to 4 hours.

Parade route ends for walkers at Middleton High School on Osborne and 22nd Street & vehicles are to end at Hillsborough Ave Plaza.

There will be Parade Shuttle Buses to return walkers to Cuscaden Park.  This year we may get rides on Shuttle Bus!!

We’re told the attendance will be the largest ever this year.

Peace & Love to you.

(FYI – The list of things we can pass out does NOT include paper… Only beads or candy, basically).

Hope you can join the walking crew.
