Shannyn Miller is considered one of Alaska’s leading progressives on the radio. She’s been conducting many interviews since Gov. Sarah Palin, was chosen to be John McCain’s running mate two weeks ago.
Miller spoke on Saturday morning on WMNF’s Women’s Show with co-host Mary Glenney. Here’s a portion of that interview where she discusses the Trooper Gate scandal currently being investigated.

Yesterday former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown wrote in an opinion column in the San Francisco Chronicle. He said GOP Vice Presidential Nominee Sarah Palin’s speech at the GOP Convention has put the Republicans on offense and the Democrats on defense – and he said, Democrats don’t do well on defense.
Brown wrote that from taxes to oil drilling, Democrats are going to have to start explaining their positions. "Whenever you have to explain things, you’re on defense,” he said.

In 2007 the Legislature approved a plan that will limit the amount of state aid going to some people with disabilities when it goes into effect on Oct. 15. Now, a United Way chapter is asking its members to fight those changes.

Protests continued today in St. Paul, at the site of the Republican National Convention. The largest arrests took place on Monday – and among those swept up was Tampa activist Kelly Benjamin.
Benjamin wasn’t released from jail until 3 a.m. today. Benjamin told WMNF that the arrests have created a chilling effect in St. Paul.
Benjamin ran for City Council in Tampa back in 2003.
