About the Band:

The John French band consists of singer-songwriter John French on guitar and vocals, Laura Greaney on keyboards, bass guitar, and vocals, Joe Greaney on electric guitar, and Steve Waters on guitars and vocals.  John French has spent more than 35 years as a creative musician writing original material.  At the age of 19, John was playing and writing in original rock bands. One such collaboration resulted in a co-written song appearing on the debut album release of a Knoxville, Tennessee based band known as the V-Roys, co-produced by Steve Earle in 1995.  By 2011, and with the release of John’s solo album All Roads, he had discovered his niche in music as an Americana genre singer-songwriter, recognized for his unique style of music combining bluegrass, folk, rock, and country.

Veteran musician Steve Waters enhances the unique sound of the band with his experienced guitar skills and vocal abilities. Steve has performed with many Central Florida performers and was recently a member of the Caribbean Chillers, a Jimmy Buffet tribute band traveling as far away as Cozumel for performances.

Husband and wife team, Joe and Laura Greaney make up the other half of the band. Laura has been an experienced lead and backing vocalist. She swaps bass guitar duties with Steve Waters when the band is performing. Joe Greaney brings a unique electric guitar sound to the band with guitar effects and tasteful solos.  He has also played with several Central Florida bands over the years. Both Joe and Laura most recently performed with Laura’s father, award winning songwriter Paul Smithson, as the trio Callicarpa.

In his new band John French brings his songwriting skills to the forefront with a more electric edge than previously experienced with his songs.
