Florida House mandates 24-hour waiting period before abortion

Share

Wednesday the Florida House passed a bill that would mandate a 24-hour waiting period before a woman can get an abortion; Republican Rep. Dennis Baxley spoke in support of the bill.

But Tallahassee Democratic Rep. Michelle Rehwinkel Vasilinda had a different take on forcing women to wait 24-hours to get an abortion.

The bill, HB633, is called “Informed Patient Consent” and a Senate version may also come up for a floor vote this week.
