Supreme Court term limits
There’s a new effort to set term limits for U.S. Supreme Court Justices. Former congressional candidate Alan Cohn is with the group Term Limit the Court and spoke today Friday on WMNF’s The Skinny. You can hear the full interview on our website, wmnf.org.
The extreme right
Conservative activist Christopher Rufo, a close ally of Florida Governor and Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis, hosted a social media debate on “X”. The debate concerned the promotion of a strategy called “no enemies to the right”, which urges people on the political right to avoid public criticism of others in their camp, including extremists. Some compared the doctrine to 1930’s rhetoric in Germany.

About a year after Kent Stermon died by suicide last December, Northeast Florida officials are offering insight into what exactly led up to him taking his own life amid controversy. Stermon played a major role in the political rise of Ron DeSantis to the Governorship and was once named “Citizen of the Year” by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. State Attorney Melissa Nelson said that Stermon attempted to seduce a young woman repeatedly.
Legendary Lucy Morgan remembered
A memorial service for Lucy Morgan was held Friday in the Florida House of Representatives. The legendary reporter died last month. Morgan was a Pulitzer Prize winner and had been the bureau chief of the St. Petersburg Times, what is now the Tampa Bay Times.
