Tribute to Dr. Maya Angelou

Share

We played an excerpt from Maya Angelou’s ‘Academy of Achievement’ speech; her inauguration poem, On the Pulse of the Morning; a reading of Touched by an Angel (totally not the tv show!); Peas & Rice, off her Miss Calypso album; and Gil Scott Heron’s The Revolution Will Not be Televised; Alicia Keys’ Caged Bird; and started off with Jimmy Scott’s version of the Talking Heads’ Heaven.
