Eight top local bands are challenged by WMNF to put out their best 20 minutes of music. Their best songs, no filler! 8 bands! 8 bucks! 8pm
Sonic Graffiti – Three guys who sound like a blender of funk, punk, blues and more…an audio equivalent to wild flashes of color on a blank canvas wall, with an over-the-top sweaty live show.
Luxury Mane – True Floridian psych-pop: Billy Summer’s band has crafted that rare sound that can appeal to both college kids in 2017 and those kids’ elders who made it out the other side of the ’60s.
The Jackettes – Soul/experimental/country/Motown. A band who loves it all: from the tender ballads of the Great American Songbook, to the unpredictable antics of a swinging 70’s r&b diva mythical and real….updating the sounds of yester-year.
The Infinite Eights – Just a couple years out of high school (they met at the Patel Conservatory) , this indie-alternative band is getting a lot attention for their music with sweeping vocals, ethereal guitar, driving piano and infectious melodies.
Hello Joyce – Indie, jangle-pop, psychedelic-pop, lo-fi, dream-pop, young dude music …. and a new album that is great.
FayRoy – Their songs take in folk, psych and surf-rock influences and mixes them all togther to creat a sound that intriques and delights.
Band of Sorrows – Sounding like the result of a whiskey tryst beween Merle and Steve Earle, Band of Sorrows offers up songs about the Southern human condition,
Ari Chi – The “ukulady” is a passionate singer, songwriter, and composer whose live performances of her ukelele and soulful voice have proven to be entertaining to all kinds of audiences.
