Mark your calendar and tune your ukes for World Ukulele Day II, February 2, 2019. 1:30 to 8:00PM
In celebration of World Ukulele Day, The Tampa Bay Ukulele Society is holding a Free Concert at John R. Lawrence Pioneer Park at 420 Main Street, Dunedin, FL 34698
Bring your chairs, bring your coolers, bring your ukuleles! Florida largest Ukulele Club with over 2300 is celebrating World Ukulele Day with an afternoon and evening of music, jams, workshops and fun.
There will be a raffle for 6 ukuleles that have been donated to Tampa Bay Ukulele Society. All net proceeds will help fund TBUS cares community services projects.
Flee from WMNF Community Radio will be the Master of Ceremonies for this years celebration.
The event kicks off at 1:30 pm with afternoon musical performances by:
Cosmo and Friends, Ladies of Uke, Michael Doyle, Adam and Christy, Mark Paulson and Bernadette Fausto
There will be Free Introduction to Ukulele Workshops for Kids and Family at 3:00 & 3:30 Members of Tampa Bay Ukulele Society will teach you how to hold, strum, play chords and learn a few songs. 25 ukuleles will available to try out if you don’t own one. There are 2 sessions. Sign up at the TBUS Booth day of event.
Dunedin Ukes Jam with the crowd 4:00
Attendees who play ukuleles are encouraged to bring their ukuleles and join in for a big Jam and singalong of Easy songs led by Dunedin Ukes.
Connie Manson Children’s performance 4:30
Connie Manson is the music teacher at Suncoast Waldorf School and offers the program ‘Ukulele Fun’ at their Summer Fun Camp. The students performing for World Ukulele Day are current Third and Fifth Graders and recent alumni.
The main concert starts at 5pm with performances by five well known ukulele influenced bands…
Big Tiki and The Mai Tais, Reenee and The Rollers,
Jct 27, Tom Hood and Tropical Sons, The Barnkickers and
Peter Grace
Food & Drinks will be available from Bayou Bistro, RasRody, Honu, Best Thai, Holy Cow and Cafe Getaway. The Happiest Rabbit & Mikeys Aloha Shirts will be selling Vintage Hawaiian Shirts and Ukulele Ornaments.
Luna, Replay Guitars and Gulf to Bay will be displaying and selling a great selection of Ukuleles from Soprano to Baritone size.
