Recycled Tunes Instrument Drive + Concert

Share

The Gasparilla Music Foundation (GMF) and its Recycled Tunes program will hold a Musical Instrument Drive benefiting bay area schools on Saturday, December 7th, from noon until 4:00 p.m. at Sparkman Wharf in downtown Tampa.

GMF will be accepting new and gently used instruments in exchange for a two-day general admission ticket to the Gasparilla Music Festival taking place March 7-8, 2020.

Instruments received by Recycled Tunes are refurbished (if necessary) and donated to Title 1 schools in the Tampa Bay area. The program also provides repairs, gear, and other supplies such as strings, sticks, and bows for music classrooms. So far in 2019, Recycled Tunes has provided more than 350 instruments to classrooms, supporting over 1,000 children.

Taking place alongside the instrument drive will be a concert on the lawn at Sparkman Wharf.

Volunteers will be on hand for convenient instrument drop-off at the Sparkman Wharf cul-de-sac.

While there is a need for a broad range of instruments, priority instruments needed are brass, woodwind, and string instruments.
