Tampa Bay Beautiful & Recycling on the Sustainable Living Show

Share

On WMNF’s Sustainable Living program this week, we talked with two guests about keeping our bay area beautiful and recycling.

Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful is our local affiliate of Keep America Beautiful and its mission is to provide environmental education and volunteer opportunities that develop individual responsibility and environmental stewardship.

Joining us was their Environmental Program Manager Tom Damico. Also joining us was Recycling Coordinator for Hillsborough County Solid Waste Department, Travis Barnes. Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful works with all kinds of other organizations like Hillsborough County to provide educational and volunteer opportunities. Tom explained the Adopt-a-Road and the many Coastal Clean-Ups that Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful heads up. Travis brought us up to date on the latest on recycling, like bottle tops, plastic bags, electronics, etc.; also, many other aspects of recycling that are really important for us to do it right.
