Leif Nissen Social Justice Lecture Series presents:
Michael Mann, PhD., Distinguished Professor of Atmospheric Science and Meteorology, Penn State University
He will speak on climate change and its impact on Florida. Mann is an American climatologist and geophysicist, currently the Distinguished Professor of Atmospheric Science and Meteorology at Penn State University and the Director of the Earth System Science Center at Penn State. He has contributed to the scientific understanding of historic climate change based on the temperature record of the past thousand years.
He has authored three books: “Dire Predictions: Understanding Global Warming (2008),” “The Hockey Stick and the Climate Wars: Dispatches from the Front Lines (2012),” and with co-author Tom Toles “The Madhouse Effect: How Climate Change Denial is Threatening our Planet, Destroying our Politics, and Driving us Crazy (2016)” as well as 190+ peer-reviewed articles.
