Environmental law organization fights to protect farm worker rights

Share

Today on Radioactivity, Rob Lorei speaks with Andrea Delgado, Legislative Representative at Earthjustice, who is fighting to get protection for farmworkers who are exposed to pesticides. Farm workers do not have the same level of protections under the Environmental Protection Agency as most workers receive who are protected under the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. As a result, farm workers’ protections are inferior to other workers’ protections on matters such as personal protective equipment, the right to know about workplace chemicals, safety training, and emergency assistance.
