Opponent of red-light cameras criticizes company’s donation to political campaign of Tampa mayor

Critics of red-light cameras are pointing to a report in the Tampa Tribune about political contributions to Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn from a the company American Traffic Solutions as another reason to oppose the traffic cameras.

The company has a contract with Tampa and has made nearly $7 million from drivers on Tampa roads. A recent $10,000 contribution from ATS to the political committee of Mayor Bob Buckhorn is raising eyebrows of critics like Matt Florell, who runs the polling company St. Pete Polls.
