On Today’s WMNF Sustainable Living program we talked about Minimalism with a couple of guests that claim they’re Minimalists. Elsie Gilmore is an urban living blogger and posts articles about public transportation, urban planning, bicycling, walkable neighborhoods, etc. She’s the co-leader of the local minimalist meetup in St. Pete and doesn’t own a car. (www.facebook.com/urbanmayhemproject). Also joining the show was a local permaculture designer and she focuses a lot her life around the topic of minimalism. Koreen Brennen has reduced her personal waste radically and has found solutions to other waste problems. Elsie and Koreen agree that this would be a good definition for Minimalism: “Minimalism is a tool to rid yourself of life’s excess in favor of focusing on what’s important—so you can find happiness, fulfillment, and freedom” Koreen Brennen will be starting a six month intensive Permaculture Design Course in Clearwater starting October 17th www.growpermaculture.com for more information.
