Tampa is one of the 5 most congested cities in America, and one proposed solution has been to add toll roads within the medians of the interstates throughout Hillsborough, Pinellas and Polk counties. Debbie Hunt, Director of Transportation Development for District 7, talks about the plan to add tolls to Interstates I-4, I-275, and I-75 at a cost of about $7 billion. Hunt says cost to use the toll lane, which will be limited to cars and light trucks, would be at least 50 cents and then would adjust based on the level of congestion.
