As she seeks a fourth term in the Florida House, Rep. Susan Valdes, D-Tampa, has drawn a Republican challenger.

Tampa Republican Michael William Saul opened a campaign account Monday to run in 2024 in Hillsborough County’s House District 64, according to the state Division of Elections website.

Valdes, who was first elected to the House in 2018, opened a campaign account for the race in November.

Meanwhile, Kissimmee Democrat Andrew Jeng opened a campaign account Tuesday to run next year in House District 47 in Orange and Osceola counties.

That seat is held by Rep. Paula Stark, R-St. Cloud.

Stark has not opened a campaign account, though Kissimmee Democrat Anthony Nieves opened an account in November.
