“Lies & Deceit” on Morning Energy

Share

Bill Cosby was one of the nation’s most admired men. He was a pioneering African American actor and comedian who was beloved for his role as Dr. Cliff Huxtable on the 1980s megahit television series. “The Cosby Show”. However, Cosby’s reputation began to decline amid allegations of aggravated indecent sexual assault.  He was eventually convicted on three counts of aggravated indecent sexual assault  in April 2018.  In addition to these charges,  there have been roughly 60 women who have accused Cosby of drugging and assaulting them over the course of his five-decade career.

Cosby was not the only leader that disappointed the country. In April 2018, a man by the name of Joseph DeAngelo, who use to be admired for putting his life on the line for others in his role as a police officer became the primary suspect in Golden State Killer Case. DeAngelo is believed to be the individual who struck fear in the hearts of Californians from 1976 to 1986, killing 12 people, raping at least 45 people and burglarizing more than 120 homes in methodically planned crimes.

Understandably, when people whom we respect and admired violate our trust in such horrific ways it can have a profound impact on our lives. On morning energy we are going to spend time talking about the affects of these lies in deceit in our lives.
