“Money, Fame, and Happiness” on Morning Energy

Proverbs 19:1 of the New Living Bible Translation says, “Better to be poor and honest than to be dishonest and a fool”.  The New International Bible Version of Mark 10: 25 says, “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God”.

Is it better to be rich or poor? This is a long debated question, for many reasons. Some argue that If you are rich your judgment is blocked by money, causing you to care more about your money than your loved ones. On the other hand it has been said that if you are poor life in some ways are more simple,  you are more sensitive to the needs of others, and that you also are more inclined to value things like family and friends.  And finally, there are those who believe that you can have a mixture of them both.

For those that do chose wealth, perhaps it is also because wealth is often associated with have a glamorous life and that  one is  exposed to options/choices that  they wouldn’t ordinarily have. But does wealth truly equate to happiness? And for those that seem to have it all, what would then cause them chose death over life?

On June 8, 2018, the world lost a celebrity chef and host, Anthony Bourdain. His death left many perplexed, especially when he seemed to have it all. On morning energy, we are going to spend time talking about Money, fame and happiness as it relates to various areas of our lives.
