Expert says Iran’s nuclear program was never a weapons threat

Today we talk with William Beeman chair of the Anthropology Department at the University of Minnesota, who in a recent article argues that Iran its recent negotiations over its nuclear program, saying the country’s negotiators bluffed by “by giving up activities in which it had never engaged and never intended to engage in .” Leaked documents obtained by Al-Jazeera show that Israeli intelligence officials didn’t believe Iran was trying to make nuclear weapons either.  The yearlong negotiations between Iran and 6 world powers, including the U.S., ended in a pact that calls for reduction in Iran’s nuclear program.In exchange, the sanctions that have been levied against Iran since 2006 may be lifted.
