On Radioactivity Monday we listen back to the latest Florida This Week, an politcal discussion show from WEDU that is also hosted by Rob Lorei. This week we discuss: The primary election is Tuesday and we’ll look at some of the big races; Donald Trump campaigns in Tampa and again takes a tough stand on immigration; The governor will pressure Washington to do more to help the state fight the Zika outbreak; A USF study suggests that police cameras might reduce violence.

Then on the eve of election day for the primary races, we talk about voter supression with Dr. Bennie Small president of the Hillsborough chapter of the NAACP. At a press conference earlier today U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor (D-FL14) and representatives from the NAACP and ACLU said that Florida remains the epicenter of the most effective voter suppression measure in the country, often against people people who have been incarcerated. In addition, 2016 will be the first presidential election in 50 years without the full protections of the Voting Rights Act.
