On Wednesday Orlando police arrested six more people in Lake Eola Park for sharing food with the hungry. That brings the total number of people arrested in conjunction with the Orlando Food Not Bombs events to twenty-one. This comes a week after there was talk of compromise between Food Not Bombs and the city. Keith McHenry is co-founder of Food Not Bombs. He said the city doesn’t look like it’s going to budge.

Florida’s Agency for Health Care Administration, or AHCA, has been holding hearings throughout the state this week to get public input on the statewide privatization of Medicaid. Today in Tampa, dozens packed an auditorium near USF to weigh in on the changes, which would place Medicaid patients on managed care plans. Environmental group Earth Justice has filed suit against oil giant Shell and the federal government over the company’s plans to drill a deep water oil well off the Alabama coast. The new well would reportedly be two thousand feet deeper than Deepwater Horizon. It filed suit last week on behalf of several environmental groups, including the Gulf Restoration Network. A group that takes responsibility for engaging in cyber attacks in Ivory Coast, Egypt, Iran, and other countries with governments known for human rights abuses launched an attack on the City of Orlando Web site this morning.
