Big Dig! Getting ready for WMNF’s new tower

Hand Signals

WMNF is installing the base, and then a new tower, to help improve our reception. A few years ago the combination of the new, higher overpasses of the Crosstown Expressway and taller trees started to have an effect on blocking the signal from our tower at the station from the antenna located in Riverview.  With a grant from Hillsborough county and listener donations, we are able to raise our new tower to almost double the size of the current tower. This should give us a clear shot to the antenna.

Starting the week of December 5, the new tower will be installed. Meanwhile, here’s a look at what your donations are helping to do!
