Interview with Gerardo Reyes Chavez and Julia Perkins of the Coalition of Immokalee Farmworkers. They discussed wages, working conditions and the Taco Bell Truth Tour which begins tonight in Tampa. Gerardo says that wages have not increased for tomato harvesters in 20 years. The group is putting pressure on Taco Bell to ask its tomato suppliers to pay its workers 1 cent more per pound for tomatoes. (Taco Bell is one of the largest purchasers of tomatoes in the country.)
