Texas Democratic representative Ciro Rodriguez is the Chairman of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus in the U.S. Congress…

Rodriguez was in Tampa over the weekend, and called WMNF from Miami this morning. We asked him if there were any issues related to Latin America that he wishes might have been discussed during last Thursday’s Presidential Debate on foreign policy (roll tape#1 o.q.as it does with Latin America)

Back in January, President Bush outlined his plan to revamp the nation’s immigration laws, and allow some 8 million illegal immigrants to obtain legal status as temporary workers…..Since then, there has NOT been ANY action taken up on that, from Congress or the President…WMNF asked Ciro Rodriguez, the Chairman of the Hispanic Caucus, his thoughts on Bush’s proposal (roll tape#2 o.q.7 billion dollars)

That’s Texas Democrat Ciro Rodriguez, speaking to WMNF from Miami earlier today.
