KRISTINE BREESE, author of Cereal for Dinner. After three marathons, five triathlons, and 10 years of ignoring her symptoms, 35-year-old Kristine Breese suffered heart failure and received a pacemaker in 1999. As the mother of two young children, Breese’s surgery not only saved her life, but gave her a chance to examine her priorities and build a better future for herself and her family. Cereal for Dinner (& Other Shortcuts, Strategies and Sanity for Moms Battling Illness) targets women who experience serious illness while raising a family.
