Samm Simpson try to gain enough signatures for the chance to run against Congressman Bill Young by Mitch E. Perry03/13/06
Despite rumors, longtime veteran Pinellas County Republican Congressman C.W. Bill Young is expected to run for re-election this November.
If so, it will be for his 19th Term in Congress…….And currently, there is NOT a Democrat on the ballot to run against him.
But that may soon change.
County Resident Samm Simpson says she has never ran for office before, but feels that somebody should oppose Young. So why not her? But instead of paying the $9,000 filing fee to get on the ballot, she’s trying to get on the ballot by submitting the required number of signatures - 4100 – by April 10th. (roll tape#1 o.q.that’s all I can tell you)
That’s Samm Simpson, attempting to get the requisite number of signatures to qualify for the ballot to run for Congress as a Democrat, running in the 10th Congressional District in Pinellas County…..If you live in that District, and want to sign a petition, go to Sammsimpsonforcongress.com
