WAS PROPAGANDA USED BY THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION TO BUILD SUPPORT FOR THE WAR?
Freelance writer Dennis Hans has written for many publications including the New York Times, Washington Post, Slate and TomPaine.com. He's also taught mass communications at USF. He says that the Bush administration has used classic propaganda techniques to build support for the war in Iraq. Those techniques include "stating as fact allegations", "withholding key facts", "misrepresentation", setting up "straw man" arguments, "misquotation", and "putting the most frightening interpretation on a piece of evidence". On this program, Hans described the techniques citing quotes from George W. Bush and other members of the administration.comments powered by Disqus
