New Study says WalMart has declared war on Organic Farmers by Mitch E. Perry
A new report by the Cornucopia Institute accuses WalMart of cheapening the value of the organic label by sourcing products from giant factory-farms and 3rd world nations, like China.
Mark Kastel is the Senior Farm Policy Analyst with the Cornucopia Institute, based in Wisconsin. He says since Walmart announced that they would begin selling organic products, his group has been contacted by people wanting to know if this was a good thing or bad thing for the organic food industry.
That led his group to produce the Instituteââ¬â¢s white paper, ââ¬ÅWall Mart Rolls Out Organic Products ââ¬â Market Expansion or Market Delusion?ââ¬?. WMNF spoke with Mark Kastel and asked him ââ¬â which is it? (roll tape#1 o.q.ââ¬?backfire on themââ¬?)
