MEG TILLY, Author, GEMMA, St. Pete Times Fesitival of Reading w/ Mary Glenney, Women's Show

MEG TILLY, Author, Her debut novel, Singing Songs, was published by Penguin Putnam to critical acclaim in 1994. Her second novel, Gemma, has just been published by Syren Book Company. Gemma is a compelling and disturbing story in which we see both sides of child molestation and sexual abuse, hearing the voice of not only the adult predator, but that of the young victim as well. Meg has revealed that both novels are based on memories from her own childhood. About Singing Songs, she says, “It was very empowering to discover my voice, but being out there in such a personal way – even though nobody knew – was terrifying. And talking about the subject of pedophilia, she says, “I need to stand up tall and say it. Because I hope to be able to reach other children, or perhaps people who have lived through this kind of thing.
