INVESTIGATIVE REPORTER GREG PALAST DISCUSSES POTENTIAL ELECTION PROBLEMS

11/02/06

Greg Palast (author of ARMED MADHOUSE) and an investigative reporter with the BBC says that there are some potentail major problems with voters being disenfranchised in next week's elections. Starting with purged voter lists for incorrect addresses (some voters are stationed overseas in the military and not living at their "official" address), and the new requirements for ID that matches the exact name on the voter rolls, there could be millions of people barred from voting, says Palast. He spoke with WMNF's Rob Lorei about potential disenfranchisement issues and why voters should check ahead of time with their election supervisor's office if they have recently changed addresses or registered. Doing this might help avoid suprises on Election Day.
