THE NATION MAGAZINE'S JOHN NICHOLS TALKS ABOUT CORPORATE MEDIA, MEDIA REFORM AND THE PRESIDENT'S PLANS TO INCREASE TROOPS IN IRAQ

This weekend activists from around the country will gather for the third annual media reform conference.

The event begins Thursday night ...More than 2,500 people from across the country will flock to Memphis for the National Conference for Media Reform. The conference will showcase the movement to a more accountable, democratic and diverse media. Among the speakers: Bill Moyers, Amy Goodman, and Jesse Jackson.

 

 

One of the people who will be there is John Nichols who writes for several publications including The Nation Magazine, the Progressive and In These Times. He's also a pioneer blooger- writing a blog called the Online Beat for the last 8 years....

John talked with WMNF's Rob Lorei about media reform, media concentration, the President's speech on Iraq and how the media could better serve the public's need for reliable news and information.
