Kathleen Kennedy Townsend is the eldest of the 11 children that the late Robert F.Kennedy sired.Like many Kennedy’s, she has been very active politically.  She was the Lieutenant Governor of Maryland from 1995 thru 2003.  In 2002, she lost to her bid to become the state’s Governor.  Since then, she has served on served on the Board of Directors for several corporations, and has now taken on the Christian right, with her new book, “Failing America’s Faithful: How Today’s Churches Are Missing God with Politics and Losing Their Way”.The Kennedy’s have always been prominent Catholics, and Ms. Townsend is no different.  But she says that the Church has been failing the faithful WMNF spoke with Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, late last week (roll tape#1 o.q.”to the sidelines”)That’s Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, the former Lieutenant Governor of Maryland, and the author of the new book, “Failing America’s Faithfaul: How Today’s Churches Are Mixing God with Politics and Losing Their Way”
